A.F.G. Awards a Grant to Hamlin Township Fire

Department of Homeland Security awards Assistance to Firefighters Grant to the Hamlin Township Fire Department. 

On Wednesday November 13, 2008 Senator Debbie Stabenow office notified the Hamlin Township Fire Department of the grant award from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant effective on November 14, 2008. 

The grant awarded was to the amount of $12,184.00 which will be used for replacement of the 20 year old paging system currently in use by Hamlin Township Fire Department.

This grant award will make it possible for Hamlin Township Fire Department to replace all 28 of the old pagers with current model pagers along with a new base radio and encoder system.  The new pagers will have a audio voice save system so firefighters will be able to retrieve information after it has been received which will help during a emergency response to save time and speed getting needed equipment to the emergency scene. 

Chief Hendrickson of Hamlin Township Fire Department is very excited with this grant saying with the new pagers Hamlin Township Fire Fighters will be able to continue to be alerted quickly and do what they train for which is emergency operations both fire and emergency medical to save lives without worrying about their pagers failing to work or not hear a call for need.
