Ever wondered what happens when a fire truck pulls up to a crash? At the Open House, you'll get to see firefighters demonstrate the equipment, skills and teamwork they use when responding to emergencies in our community.

Bring the family. Get hands-on. Ask Questions. Meet the people who respond when you call 911.

Is the Event Free?
Yes. The Open House & Health Fair is free and open to the community.
Do i have to live in hamlin?
No. Everyone is welcome!
Is there food?
Yes. Free hot dogs, chips, popcorn, ice cream, coffee & water will be available.
Can my kids spray really spray a fire hose?
YES! But, not just the kids. Adults can spray the fire hose also!
Will the helicopter definitely land?
The helicopter being able to fly & the landing is weather dependent and up to Survival Flight.
Where should i park?
Parking is available at Hamlin Park & Island City Academy.
What happens if there is an emergency call during the event?
The department remains available for emergencies during the event. This means some firefighters may have to leave during the event. The event will continue even if there is call for service.
what happens if the weather is bad?
It's Michigan. If the weather is rainy and cold we will move as much of the event inside as possible, including the bounce house! Some events and demos will still be outside.
Where's the entrance?
We try to get an accurate count of people attending. For this reason we ask everyone to enter the township hall main entrance to access the building and event, including activities and demos outside.
