OUR BEGINNINGS WERE HUMBLE
The Hamlin Township Fire Department was formed on
January 1st 1988 with Ron Byerly as its first Fire Chief. Hamlin Fire continues to serve it's original 34.5 square miles of Hamlin Township and the eastern section of Brookfield Township. Over time as the population has grown, Hamlin Fire has increased it's run volume from less than 50 runs per year in 1988 to over 200 runs in 2023.
The Hamlin Township Fire Department is proud to continue to aid area communities and its fire department partners around the Eaton County, Ingham County and Jackson County area. Hamlin Fire has assisted in several major incidents including a train derailment in Potterville, Potterville pallet factory fire and a fuel tanker crash in Springport.
Hamlin Fire is proud of the communities we serve and proud to still have two original members of the department still serving, Chet Anderson & Joe Holmes.
